About

Hi, I'm Doroyuri. This blog is mainly for an art experiment I came up with. I watched RWBY for the first time three years ago and hated it ever since. One of the things that stuck out to me is how the showrunner, Monty Oum, came up with anime homework since the writers weren't familiar with the genre. Back then, I had a brilliant idea to do my own homework, and make something out of that. I wanted to couple the anime homework with criticizing RWBY because I wanted to put myself on the line. I didn't just want to complain about a show and do nothing. I wanted to challenge myself of making something learning the lessons of RWBY and other pieces of media. Of course like any challenge there are rules.

The Rules

  1. I must watch all of the volumes of RWBY. I will not count any side material like manga, anime, books, or any crossovers, etc. The only material I will make room for is World of Remnant.
  2. I will only watch one volume per a month. Each volume will set a theme of what I think RWBY struggles with or fits that volume's structure.
  3. I must at least talk about one of the things off of my anime/media homework and write a critical look at it. What works, what doesn't and how will I use this work for my own stuff.
  4. Each month, I must post about the progress of my own works in regards of theme by the end of the month.
  5. I will mention as little as possible of any behind-the-scenes drama. To critically analyze RWBY, I must seperate the art from the artist in this case because drudging up some shit to prove my point isn't the goal here. The goal is to look at a piece of media and how it works. Nothing more than that.
